Over 40 years,one habit.
Koluman carries over 40 years of legal experience. Today the group is led by Dr. Emre Koluman and has grown from a law practice into an international regulatory and strategic advisory group with people in the Gulf, Europe, Turkey and Russia.
The work has changed; the habit has not. We still read every plan the way the authorities will read it, and we still prefer to find the problem ourselves before anyone else does.
How the group is organised
Koluman is a group of independent entities under one name. Legal services are provided by Koluman Law & Regulatory Advisory entities licensed to practise in their respective jurisdictions. Koluman Tech DIFC, registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre, is the group's UAE advisory entity and operates this site.
We organise it this way for a simple reason: legal advice should always come from a firm licensed where the question arises, and advisory work should never be dressed up as something it is not.
Leadership
Dr. Emre Koluman, Managing Partner. Emre leads the group's regulatory practice across the UAE (DIFC, ADGM and VARA), the AIFC, Turkey, the EU and South Africa. His work concentrates on cross-border structuring, fintech and digital-asset regulation, AML and compliance advisory, and cross-border commercial contracts. He holds a PhD in international law and is a Turkish-qualified lawyer.
What makes Koluman different
- Both sides of the table. We advise regulated businesses and the authorities that regulate them, so we know what will be asked before it is asked.
- Over 40 years of legal experience. We have watched regimes form, mature and reset, and we plan for the next turn.
- On the ground. Our own people in each region, not correspondents.
- Licence to launch, and after. The same team from the first regulator meeting through years of operation.
- In the UAE we do not resolve disputes. We prevent them.
Know where your plan will stall — before the regulator tells you.
A two-week diagnostic of your plan, jurisdiction by jurisdiction: a short written map of where it will stall and what to change, and a working session to go through it.
